Saying that lgbt+ people didn’t exist before there were terms to describe them is such an odd concept to me. It would be like saying people with vision problems didn’t exist before glasses. People with vision problems have always existed, it was just a lot harder because they didn’t have ways of coping. They didn’t have glasses or a diagnosis.
The labels we’ve created for ourselves are not just new age, pandering made up terms. Gays and bisexuals and trans people have always existed. They just didn’t have a word for it.
Actually, it’s been so long since I did a rec list that this ask felt kind of intimidating. This fandom is full of such amazing writers, we’re very lucky! I’m afraid I don’t sheith or shance and am super picky about the shklance I read, so these are all klance fics. I hope you enjoy anyhow!

Once a week or something?” His life is a hell of a lot easier when he lets himself cave under all the ways he wants Lance’s luminous attention, and company, and friendship. All the ways he wants Lance, full stop.
I don’t usually talk about other show headcanons on here other than ML so ignore if you want. But I got a klance headcanon that my cuban ass wants to share lmao.
So like a lot of hispanic families, when they see a family member constantly hanging out with someone (usually their best friend), the family will always ask said family member “Y el novio?” or “Y la novia?”. Which pm translates to “And the girlfriend/boyfriend?”. Like we know that there is nothing romantic going on between them, but we still say it since they’re constantly together. Like my dad is still married to my mom but is best friends with his boss and at dinner we’ll ask him: “Y el novio?”. To tease.
So like headcanon where when they’re back on earth or au where they’ve never left earth where Lance and Keith are besties and always hang out/ talk on the phone and Lance’s family always asks him “Y el novio?” and he gets really flustered and is like “MAMÁ”. And his whole family (cousins and everyone included) refer to Keith as that and Keith thinks it’s a nickname and has no idea what it means or why it gets Lance so flustered but he’s just like w.e.
And hispanic families (at least from my experience) always ask when the best friend is coming for dinner a l l the time. So other headcanon that Keith is over Lance’s house a lot. And when he doesn’t come, sometimes Lance’s mom cooks extra food for him and sets his spot on the table and when Lance tells her that he isn’t coming that day, she makes him call Keith to come over because she’s not going to let that food go to waste and also she misses him since he’s now like her other son.
And Keith can never say no to her so he always goes.
And after a few months of that, one day Lance is smiling at his phone while he’s at his cousin’s b-day and his whole fam start bugging him about “el novio” and he smiles brightly for the first time and is like “Good. We had our first date last night” and they’re all like “AAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY” and start hugging him and clapping. And they make him invite Keith over and he does and Keith’s name in Lance’s family levels up from “El novio” to “El nuero.” since when you actually start dating someone, they usually start referring to them as son/daughter in-law cuz we extra af. And Lance flushes even more.
